Hi there! I'm Piyush, and I like pulling systems apart to find where they actually break. I'm a full-stack engineer with a bias for the backend — the part that has to stay correct under concurrency and load, long after the UI on top looks finished.
Currently, I'm a Full-Stack Engineer at devx ai labs, where I own the pre-order journey for The Sleep Company's POS platform end-to-end — Shopify sync, cart, a three-tier coupon engine, and a payments layer spanning five providers. I act as technical lead for a 3-person pod, partnering closely with the EM and PM to scope and ship safely at a 251-store scale.
Previously, I've worked across a wide range of environments — from fintech platforms to Web3 startups — including EquityPandit, StepsStamp, and Codesdot Solutions. Before most of this, I spent a year and a half as a software engineer inside a stock-market advisory firm — and being that close to the subject matter pulled me into the market myself, on my own account: trading, mutual funds, managing my own portfolio. That's left me with a rare-for-an-engineer instinct for what actually matters in financial software: correctness under concurrency, auditability, and never quietly losing someone's money.
Outside of client work, I also run Merge Scheduler, a product I built to schedule GitHub merges and auto-revert failed deploys, and I write about the systems papers and production incidents I find genuinely interesting — like how Facebook scaled Memcached to a billion requests a second.

- Act as technical lead for a 3-person pod: scoping with EM/PM, choosing AWS services, supporting two engineers.
- Co-created the brand as first team member; built the MVP fast enough to validate before seed funding.
- After funding, hired and led 3 senior developers; architected NFT-purchase, token-mining, and cliff-vesting smart contracts with anti-cheat logic enforced entirely on-chain.
- When funding tightened, took sole ownership of the app and 4 production smart contracts — kept it live on the Play Store.
- Rebuilt the financial-advisor portal from scratch after its Laravel implementation outgrew itself, inside a fixed 3-month deadline.
- Scaled the platform to 150,000+ registered financial advisors — the largest MySQL-backed system I've owned.
- Owned the Unicorn wallet module end-to-end and led the React rebuild of its marketing site.
- Solo-ran two client accounts across back-to-back shifts, leading 2 junior developers and 3 interns — earned a best-employee bonus.
